This morning and the last couple days what has been on my mind and heart is communication. That is what we have to do in every waking hour and aspect of our lives; communicate with one another whether it’s with your spouse, kids, family members, friends, strangers, co-workers, self, and/or God. How is your communication with others, yourself? Communication never stops and is what makes the world go round. It’s an old saying “communication rules the nation” and that’s exactly what’s happening in the world today. How we communicate with one another is controlling our minds, hearts, and souls; distracting us from God’s love and His commandments for us. Some of us are so stuck on ourselves and set in our ways; free to do and say what we want which is funny because we have this freedom because of God’s love and we still don’t care about it. Communication can provoke all kinds of emotions, good and bad.

God tells us “Beloved, do not imitate what is evil, but [imitate] what is good. The one who practices good [exhibiting godly character, moral courage, and personal integrity] is of God; the one who practices [or permits or tolerates] evil has not seen God [he has no personal experience with Him and does not know Him at all]” 3 John 1:11. If you were truly connected with God, it would change your life literally. Get connected. You would hold yourself more accountable for how you treat people and practice self-control. It may be hard but worthy, and I know because I struggle with it daily. Another thing, I find it ironic how the leaders we defend in their honor imitates godly character like the Obamas who we love because of how well-mannered they are and how they communicate with us and respond with class, respect, and love while being the POTUS and First Lady and still opposes those in office now. Did you or do you see them publicly acting and saying foolish things to tear down their opponents? No. Michelle Obama said it best “when they go low, we go high.” Take the high road, my loves and speak with wisdom not foolishness. Change starts with you.
